SPORT ACTIVITY
I have served as:
A Member of the Council of the International Skating Union (ISU) for Figure Skating from 1988 to 1992. I was prevented from standing for re-election at the 44th Congress held in Davos in 1992 when the Speed Skating section of the Congress elected a Member from Italy as Vice President for Speed Skating, such election occurring prior to the election for Members of the Council for Figure Skating, thus barring my re-election.

The Chairperson of the Figure Skating Technical Committee of the Italian Skating Federation from 1964 to 1976
A Member of the Figure Skating Technical Committee of the Italian Skating Federation from 1959 to 1963
I served as a Judge for International Competitions from 1961-1963, as a Judge for ISU Championships from 1964-1966 and as a Referee for ISU Championships from 1966-1994.
Since 1966 I have acted as a Judge or Referee at seven Winter Olympic Games:

1968 Grenoble 1984 Sarajevo
1972 Sapporo 1988 Calgary
1976 Innsbruck  
    and at:
    25 World Championships
    26 European Championships
    15 Junior World Championships
In 1997, I was nominated for appointment as an Honorary ISU Referee
In the field of the instruction of the judges I worked in the preparation and the updating of the Judges' Handbooks:
    Judges' Handbook 1 compulsory figures
    Judges' Handbook 2 single free skating and the short program
    Judges' Handbook 3 pair skating
In the years 1972—1988 I held Judges' Seminars in:
    Australia: Melbourne and Sydney
    South Africa: Cape Town, Durban, Pretoria
    New Zealand: Christchurch and Aukland
    Japan: Tokyo, Kyoto, Kushiro
    China: Beijing and Harbin
    United States: Lake Placid and Colorado Springs
    Canada: Toronto
    And in: Finland, Denmark, Sweden, Soviet Union, Bulgaria, Hungary, Switzerland
For my activity in sport I was honored with the following awards:
    1977: Silver medal of the Ministry of Sport of Finland
    1977: Silver medal of the Ministry of Sport and Youth of France
    1978: Olympic medal of the Ministry of Sport of Austria
    1982: Silver medal for Sport Merits of the Italian Olympic Committee
    1984: Cross of Knight of the Order of Malta
    1992: Gold medal for Sport Merits of the Italian Olympic Committee
